Silvery body with horizontal stripes; one tooth patch on the back of the tongue.
Habitat on Stamford
Rock, flooded timber, bulrush and cattail cover vary with water level. Installed habitat structures supplement natural cover.
Fishing approach
Lake guide guidance: TPWD suggests plastics or jigs around emergent vegetation when water is high; crankbaits or spinnerbaits around exposed rock and stumps at lower levels. Fish jigs or minnows close to crappie structure.
Fishing guidance describes documented approaches, not a promise of fish activity today.
No active lake-specific advisory or possession ban was named in the reviewed DSHS directory. This does not guarantee that fish are safe to eat.
Harvest permission and eating restrictions are separate.
