Gear restriction: Use of juglines, throwlines, and trotlines is prohibited.

Identify your catch
Irregular dark speckling and usually seven or eight dorsal spines distinguish black crappie from white crappie.
Habitat on Coffee Mill
Dam-area brush piles, shoreline water willow and upper-lake standing timber provide cover.
Fishing approach
Lake guide guidance: TPWD describes spring bass fishing along vegetation, winter and spring crappie jigs or minnows, and drift-fished channel-catfish baits.
Fishing guidance describes documented approaches, not a promise of fish activity today.
No active lake-specific advisory or possession ban was named in the reviewed DSHS directory. This does not guarantee that fish are safe to eat.
Harvest permission and eating restrictions are separate.
General species guide
Uses lakes, ponds and slow water, often near submerged cover.
